Come for the DJ, stay for the pozole, or the delicious desserts, leave with something you made. Free art party at Life on Art.
We're throwing open our doors for a Tuesday night that feels nothing like a Tuesday night. Come for DJ Deks spinning live all evening, stay for the food with a multi-cultural offering including pozole — made from scratch, served with tostadas, fresh salsas, and all the fixings. Grab a drink, wander the gallery, and actually make something with your hands.
Amaya Yoshikawa — Sonoma County artist and Freedom Festival Freedomista — brings her art stations to the floor. Make your own artist trading card that tells the world who you are. Add your thread to the weaving wall. Create something you'll actually keep.
DJ Deks - will be playing the music
Stevan Bosanac from the Life on Art team runs the Heart Talisman station — make your talisman, take it home.
The Juice Goddess of Fruteria Diosa and desserts by OccasionsByJay will be on hand with delicious drinks and desserts
On the walls: Unbound — a large-scale papier-mâché installation made by residents and staff at Napa State Hospital. Come stand in front of it for a minute. It asks something of you.
This is part of the Freedom Festival FreedomFestivalUSA.org— created by improvscience and Dr. Raquell Holmes — a summer series running Juneteenth through July 4th, celebrating what freedom looks, sounds, and feels like when real people make it together.
The DJ plays. The food hits. The art is yours to try.

Let Freedom Ring Performance Event
Life on Art closes out the Freedom Festival with an afternoon of poetry, spoken word, and live performance — the kind of room where someone says something and you feel it land. Musician Jeff Ray will perform an original song, Ballerina Kimberly Olivera will dance beneath the winged hearts, Incredible poets from the African American Writers of Sonoma County will perform. And then the mic opens Helen Solis, whose journey through LifeMoves became a poem, takes the stage. Open mic performers are welcome as well.
This is Let Freedom Ring — an open mic curated as a full arc, not just a lineup. MC'd by Dr. Raquell Holmes.
Bring your poem. Bring your voice. Bring your music. Bring someone who needs to experience this work
