Volunteers are the life blood of LOA

Art-as-connection is only as powerful as the number of hands carrying it into classrooms, prisons, and community spaces, and volunteers are how that reach multiplies. When people give their time to LOA, they're not supporting the mission from the outside; they're one of the primary forces making it real.

Student Volunteer Programs

  • “It’s a nice opportunity to hang out and relax with other artistically minded people while also being able to have my hands create something new and meaningful.”

  • “You don’t have to be an artist to do this art. I show up, put the paper maché in the molds, and they guide me through it. It’s really that simple.”

  • “It’s very satisfying to create these hearts. There’s something with the warm goop and the artistic element of pushing out the heart shapes and smoothing out the wings is very, very cool.”
